What to expect

“Black Friday phone deals” in South Africa mixes cash smartphones with Ackermans, PEP, Jet, Edgars and TFG cellphone posters. Those clothing-store handsets are often entry Androids on terms we do not fully see. This page is smartphones we price-check — Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi and iPhone. Wearables and contracts have their own pages.

Is it really a deal?

We check each price against that item's own history and only list a deal when today's price is genuinely lower. Listed “was” prices that we have never seen charged, or that jumped just before the sale, are left out. We never promote price errors. A “free phone” on a 24-month clothing account is not a verified cash discount, so it will not appear here as one.

Tips

Want only Apple? Use the iPhone page. Want a contract + data? Use data & contracts. Cash phones from stores we track belong here when the history check passes.

Questions

When are Black Friday phone deals in South Africa?
about 20 to 30 November 2026, with the named Friday on Friday 27 November 2026. “Phone deals 2021–2025” is this same season.
Are Samsung Black Friday deals any good?
Sometimes on last year's Galaxy, rarely on a launch week flagship. We keep the row only if Samsung's ticket is below recent prices at that store.
Do Ackermans or PEP cell phone Black Friday deals show here?
Only if we track that product and the cash price is a real drop. Most clothing-store phone posters fail that test.
What about phone contracts on Black Friday?
See the data & contracts page. This grid is cash prices on handsets and wearables.
