What to expect

Black Friday 2026 is 27 November. The appliance cluster is washing machines, fridge/freezer combos, air fryers (including Philips) and the odd bed search that people file next to “home”. We use the appliances taxonomy (large, small, heating/cooling). Beds and furniture live under Home — we will not pretend a bed is a fridge. Game and Makro fridge specials are the usual comparison pair.

Is it really a deal?

White goods are where inflated “was” prices do the most damage because the ticket is thousands of rand. We check each price against that item's own history and only list a deal when today's price is genuinely lower. Listed “was” prices that we have never seen charged, or that jumped just before the sale, are left out. We never promote price errors.

Tips

Measure the alcove before you chase a % off. Compare energy rating and capacity, not just the sticker. Air fryers are cheap enough that a R200 swing can still be real; a R4 000 “save” on a fridge needs history.

Are Black Friday fridge specials at Game or Makro real?

Each SKU is different. We list a fridge only when that store's current price is below its own recent history for the same item.

Will washing machines drop on Black Friday in South Africa?

They are always advertised. Some front-loaders do drop; many “was” tags do not. The grid is the ones that did.

Are air fryer Black Friday deals worth it?

Often, because the cash price is low and history is easy to see. Philips and no-name units both appear — read the wattage.

Do you list bed deals here?

Beds are home & furniture, not appliances. Follow the home category if that is what you meant.
