I called to enquire whether a particular Timberland shoe was in stock, as I had previously returned a pair and was looking to purchase a replacement. Instead of assisting me with my enquiry, Nobi told me to “go buy somewhere else” because, according to her, “we can’t have you returning it again.” I found this response extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. Returning an item in accordance with the store’s return policy should not result in a customer being spoken to in such a dismissive and hostile manner. What was particularly disappointing was the complete lack of professionalism and emotional intelligence demonstrated during the conversation. Rather than addressing my enquiry respectfully, I was made to feel as though my previous return was an inconvenience or personal offence. Nobi then ended the call abruptly. I understand that returns can be frustrating for a business, but customers should still be treated with courtesy and respect. I would strongly encourage management to address this type of conduct, as it creates a very poor customer experience and reflects badly on the business.
